COVID-19 Protocol

Dear Guest,

In these uncertain times, this is what Orange Drive Hostel is doing to support you and your travel plans. As the situation around coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we are doing everything we can to ensure your travel safety and provide maximum flexibility.Your Travel SafetyAs always, the safety and security of our guests and staff members remains our highest priority. We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness. In response to the coronavirus, we have taken additional measures following guidelines from global and local public health authorities (including the WHO and CDC):

Our staff has received enhanced operating procedures including reinforcing the frequency of hand washing for all employees.

We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public/common areas (including lobbies, door handles, public bathrooms, etc.) and have implemented the use of hospital-grade disinfectant and increased deployment of antibacterial hand sanitizers.

When possible, we are limiting capacity/number of guests in dorm rooms to assist with social distancing.

We will adjust breakfast service in accordance with current food safety recommendations. Some self-service items may be temporarily be unavailable.

Our guest safety is a priority and since we provide a shared space environment, if a guest appears visibly sick at check-in, we reserve the right to request that they reschedule their stay, not check-in and will refer them to a nearby medical facility or clinic.

If a guest starts to feel sick or develops symptoms during their stay, we ask them to call the front desk, and our staff will direct them to a nearby medical facility. Since not all coughs and sneezes are COVID-19, in that case we will do our best to move them, when possible, to a private room and restrict the use of common areas and amenities.

How can Travelers protect themselves from COVID-19

  • COVID-19, or ‘novel coronavirus,’ is a respiratory illness that was first detected in China in December 2019. Symptoms include high fever, cough and difficulty breathing. The virus can be spread via person to person contact or from contact with contaminated surfaces. To protect yourself and others, practice these healthy hygiene habits:
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds
  • Use alcohol based hand sanitizer if you are not able to wash your hands
  • Cough into the crook of your elbow
  • Sneeze into a tissue or the crook of your elbow
  • Avoid touching your face, mouth, eyes and nose
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick
  • If you are sick, stay at home or call a medical professional
